A degree qualified design engineer from Norwich, UK, Darren picked up a camera again in 2007 re-energizing a childhood hobby. He set about photographing the cultural festivals in Asia. Photography was self-taught, guided by his longtime friend and professional commercial photographer Mike Harrington. After many extended photography tours in Asia, in 2010 he gave up his design engineer career and moved to Cambodia, the heart of Asia, concentrating on his passion full time.
Photography was initially a tool to integrate and get close to the culture. The people of Asia, specifically Cambodia, were what drew him there, and it is this he enjoyed most. Over the years he has gained a great depth of knowledge of the culture and local area while forever developing his camera skills. His work has found its way to local and national publications such the Guardian and Lonely Planet.
His engineering background may have led him to his latest obsession, time-lapse photography -here-, bringing time and motion to his work. Engineering certainly shows with his knowledge of photography. It is this latest development that Darren will strive to show Cambodia at its best. That combined with a love for the culture has got him where he is today, content with life in Asia.
Darren is about enjoying what he does best, sharing that with others makes the day. Standard tours are tailored to the clients requests, giving extra focus for your dream photography trip in the Kingdom of Wonder.

I was out with clients shooting monks preparing for lunch on a multi day workshop. This monk, after seeing our cameras, appeared with a Canon DSLR and promptly got a bit of tuition 🙂 All in a days work here in the kingdom of wonder!
The things we do, yes that’s me!
