The biggest village, Kampong Kleang, has several thousand inhabitants and houses on 10m high stilts, quite spectacular. People here are wonderful and love to see their pictures. There is a mixture of Khmer inland, and Vietnamese in the floating village further out.

Mechrey, a small settlement with a mixture of cultures. This village is truly floating and moved in and out with the water level, best seen at high water October to December. We aim to get you there for the best light when activity is at it’s greatest.

Prek Toal, is a one hour boat ride from Mechrey. It is famed for the popular bird sanctuary** (best visited Feb / March for birding).
Seldom do tourists arrive here during the golden hour, giving us photographers unique opportunity. Add a home stay (expect very basic accommodation) and witness sun rise on the lake as the village wakes up.
